Scotland defeated Germany by 72 runs DLS method in their opening match of the T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier on Thursday. Scotland won the toss and elected to bat first, amassing a total of 234/5 in their 20 overs. Germany, in reply, could only muster 162/7 in their allotted overs, falling well short of the target.
George Munsey was the star performer for Scotland, smashing an unbeaten 96 off just 57 deliveries. He was well supported by Matthew Cross, who contributed 58 from 37 balls. For Germany, Arun Singh was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2/35 in his four overs.
